Why Upgrade Your Outlets
Prevent Shock & Fire
Loose connections and worn contacts arc and overheat. New, properly terminated outlets eliminate a leading cause of electrical fires and shocks.
Meet Current Code
Tamper-resistant and GFCI-protected outlets are now required by code in kitchens, baths, and outdoors — and expected by home inspectors and buyers.
Modern Convenience
Built-in USB-C charging and 20A circuits power today's devices and appliances cleanly, without overloaded power strips and extension cords.
Our Outlet Replacement Process
Inspect & Test
We check every outlet for grounding, polarity, and tension, and identify any that are loose, scorched, or ungrounded.
Recommend
We show you which outlets need replacement and which code upgrades apply to your home, with upfront pricing.
Replace
We install new receptacles with proper torque on the screw terminals — never back-stabbed — and verify polarity and ground.
Test & Label
Every new outlet is load-tested and GFCI-tested, and your panel is labeled so the circuit is documented.
Outlet Repair Questions
Q.Why do my outlets have only two prongs?
Two-prong outlets mean your home's wiring predates grounding. We can upgrade to grounded three-prong outlets by running a ground wire, installing GFCI protection (which is code-acceptable without a ground), or rewiring the circuit — depending on your wiring and budget.
Q.What's the difference between a GFCI and a regular outlet?
A GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) cuts power in milliseconds if it detects current leaking to ground — protecting you from shock in wet areas. Regular outlets don't. GFCI protection is now required in kitchens, baths, garages, outdoors, and near sinks.
Q.Are tamper-resistant outlets required?
Yes. Since 2008 the NEC requires tamper-resistant receptacles in all new and replacement residential installations. They have built-in shutters that block foreign objects, protecting children from inserting keys or pins.
Q.Can you add USB outlets?
Yes. We install receptacles with built-in USB-A and USB-C charging ports so you can charge phones, tablets, and devices without a power brick — a clean, popular upgrade for kitchens, bedrooms, and home offices.
